Need a custom copper busbar?
Send your drawing and tell us the current, available space, terminal connections, and insulation requirements. If you need a second source or want to change an existing design, include the current part and the problem you want to solve.
Copper, aluminum, or a copper-aluminum connection?
| Copper busbar | Specify the material grade, section, terminal geometry, joining method, surface-finish requirement, and allowable temperature rise. |
|---|---|
| Aluminum busbar | Identify the alloy, available section, installation constraints, mating materials, and joining or fastening requirements. |
| Copper–aluminum interface | Materials on each side, joint design, insulation, and test requirements for the operating environment. |
| Rigid or flexible link | Define assembly variation, movement, vibration conditions, and routing space before choosing the structure. |
Review a flexible busbar when the interface requires movement.
What to send with a busbar RFQ
| Drawing & revision | 2D drawing, available 3D model, terminal locations, hole or weld areas, datums, and critical dimensions. |
|---|---|
| Electrical duty | Continuous and peak current, duration or duty cycle, voltage, ambient conditions, cooling, and allowable temperature rise. |
| Assembly | Mating parts, fastening or welding process, access for assembly, and expected installation variation. |
| Finish & insulation | Required finish, exposed contact areas, insulation coverage, clearance constraints, and applicable customer specifications. |
| Quantity & stage | Sample quantity, pilot-build quantity, estimated recurring demand, target date, and required documents. |
| Acceptance | Required dimensional, connection-resistance, thermal, insulation, and assembly checks; identify the method and acceptance limits. |
Design, samples, and production support
We can check your drawing for manufacturability, compare design options, and help develop samples. Before making samples, we agree the design, materials, tests, and acceptance limits with you. Ampnera supports NPI and production introduction, with manufacturing and shipment arranged through qualified manufacturing partners.
Common questions
Can you assess an existing copper busbar for a second source?
Yes. Send the current drawing, material and finish requirements, any known issues, and the tests used to approve the part. We can use these to plan a comparable sample.
Can I get a current rating from thickness alone?
Thickness is only one factor. We also need the current and duration, conductor shape, terminal and joint design, cooling, ambient temperature, and allowable temperature rise.
Is there a fixed price, MOQ, or delivery time?
Price, minimum order quantity, and delivery time depend on the part and the work required. Send your drawing, sample and production quantities, and target date so we can discuss the options.
