Flexible connections for BBU modules
A BBU (battery backup unit) may need a flexible connection where terminals do not line up exactly or installation space is tight. Send the module drawing, terminal or PCB connections, and current requirements. Tell us how much movement, vibration, or thermal expansion the part needs to handle.
What to send for a flexible busbar project
| Interfaces | Terminal positions, contact areas, conductor material, available mating drawings, and the intended fastening or joining process. |
|---|---|
| Movement & envelope | Assembly offsets, expected movement direction and range, bend envelope, operating vibration requirements, and installation clearance. |
| Electrical & thermal | Continuous and pulse current, duration, voltage, cooling conditions, ambient range, and allowable temperature rise. |
| Insulation | Covered and exposed areas, edge protection, required separation, and customer-specified dielectric or environmental checks. |
| Samples & acceptance | Prototype quantity, fit-check assembly, measurement conditions, required documents, and acceptance limits. |
Copper and aluminum flexible busbar engineering
We help you select the conductor arrangement, material, thickness, terminal joints, and insulation. The design needs to fit the available space and work under the electrical, thermal, and mechanical conditions you specify.
Connecting the busbar to the battery assembly
Share how the flexible link connects to the cell interconnect and sensing parts. We can then agree which parts we will work on, what your team will provide, and how the finished connection will be tested.
Review battery interconnect and sensing assemblies. See AI server and BBU applications.
Agree the sample tests first
Before making samples, agree how fit, connection resistance, temperature rise, and insulation will be checked. Add any movement, vibration, or environmental tests your application requires. We confirm the test conditions and acceptance limits with you. Manufacturing and shipment are arranged through qualified manufacturing partners.
Common questions
Can a flexible busbar replace a rigid BBU busbar?
We can assess that using your existing busbar and module drawing. Include the current, available space, movement requirements, and tests used for the original part.
Does flexible mean that the part can bend repeatedly in service?
If the part will move repeatedly, tell us the movement, number of cycles, and available bend space. The design and tests need to account for those conditions.
Can I start with an existing sample?
Yes. Send the sample with photos or drawings of the mating parts. Tell us the operating requirements, known issues, quantity, and what you want to check or improve.
